100% pure essential oils that have proven immune-boosting powers

The following 100% pure essential oils and essential oil combinations have proven in human studies to significantly boost immunity. I have given you the exact oils and carriers used in the studies so you can create the same scent and know it will have immune-boosting powers.

Lemon, orange, and bergamot essential oils (EOs):  In human studies, citrus EOs have proven to have a restoring effect on the immune system by enhancing CD4/CD8 T cell values and NK (natural killer) cell activity.

Ginger: Ginger essential oil has proven to modulate biological pathways that can cause inflammation. Ginger is also a powerful antioxidant and anti-cancer agent.  Ginger acts as a base/bottom note in fragrance formulations.

Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus essential oil has been shown in human studies to be a significant anti-inflammatory agent and immune response enhancer.  Eucalyptus is a middle or heart note in fragrance formulations.

Hinoki cypress: Hinoki cypress is a type of cypress tree yields a pure essential oil proven to increase the numbers of NK cells.

Understanding EO blend ratios and dilution

Every aromatherapist has an opinion on this, so experiment.  Basically, you can dilute pure essential oils in purified water – especially if you want to make a wonderful air freshener.  So, get an eye dropper and start putting your drops into a clean spray bottle.

Alternatively, you can take the drops of essential oil and mix them with a carrier oil in a 50/50 ratio and a little on your body or light bulbs to perfume your home.

Body Mist/Air Freshener

• 15 drops sweet orange oil
• 5 drops rose oil
• 4 drops lavender oil
• 1-ounce purified water

Combine in a spray bottle, add more water if needed, spritz everywhere you want to scent yourself or your home – without fear of harming your immune system.

Rose perfume

• 30 drops pure rose hip oil
• 9 drops vanilla oil
• 6 drops sweet orange oil
• 2 ounces distilled water

Combine in atomizer and use immediately, if you like.  You can also make a solid perfume with these ingredients by using the basic balm recipe below.

Balm perfume

• 3 ounces shea butter
• 1-ounce almond oil
• 15 drops lemon oil
• 5 drops rosehip oil
• 4 drops eucalyptus oil

Combine all in a pretty glass bottle.
