10 dangerous myths about suicide

Suicide has become an epidemic. It is the 10 overall cause of death for all ages and the number two cause of death for teens and adolescents. In fact the crisis around suicide has become so great that in 2019 nearly 9% of 9th -12th graders attempted to end their life with nearly 20% thinking seriously about suicide. Most suicides can be prevented because most people who are thinking of suicide do not want to die but rather desperately want to stop the pain and don’t see another way to do it. They need the caring people in their lives to recognize the signs of suicide and ask them about it,then help them get the help they need. Unfortunately, most of us believe one or more of these 10 dangerous myths that may keep us from recognizing or asking about suicide.
