AccuCare Offers Incredible In-Home Health Care

We are truly grateful for your amazing award. Tell us about your journey with AccuCare. It was four years ago that I had the opportunity to begin my career there. I was responsible to answer clients’ questions and concerns about their healthcare. I learned a lot during that time and realized that I had all the information I needed just a few phone calls away. To keep my engagement high, I set myself a challenge and saw how far it would take. I wasn’t expecting to be recognized, but I knew I was an employee who had earned it.

What is the most important thing that you’ve learned about caregiving?

Recognizing that everyone has the right of their opinion is key. Personally, I believe everyone should be acknowledged for the hard work they do every day to provide home healthcare St. Louis for their loved ones.

What makes your company different? Have a story to tell?

Our company is a small business, which is operated out of St. Louis MO. When it comes to creating and delivering services for the community, we are open to new ideas and taking chances.

Please tell us about the worst mistake you made when starting. What was the most important lesson you learned from this experience?

It was my first week of work. As I was trying to figure out how to make the company’s online training materials more useful, I thought of creating a leaderboard to help clients hold their employees accountable. It was obvious to me that mistakes can happen so a leaderboard must exist that helps you hold your employees accountable. Online training is offered to help you learn from your mistakes. Although mistakes are a good thing for a group, they can also help to build a team that is committed and cares about the collective outcome.

About Social Empowerment Council, an alliance of disability organizations, provides peer and community education to eliminate social and cultural barriers that hinder people with disabilities from reaching the full potential. We meet to share our knowledge, and strengthen advocacy for people living with disabilities.

The Psychiatry Building was destroyed in a tragic fire in St. Louis (MO) approximately 101 years ago. Pile Design Studio was commissioned by the city to reimagine both the Jefferson Memorial and the Psychiatry Building. The result was a powerful reminder that healing is possible. Sometimes what is possible can’t be imagined. The Architecture Perkins + Will has curated an Exhibit that features some of these pieces in St. Louis. The Exhibit runs until September 5.
