BIOHOAX: False Alert! CDC DOES NOT Admit Ebola is Airborne – only by direct or prolonged close contact, i.e., droplets from cough, sneeze, blood, saliva, etc.

Why are dishonest people trying so hard to manipulate the printed facts for the sake of terrorizing others!

The alleged CDC website text clearly defines what they mean by DIRECT or CLOSE CONTACT with an ebola case:

“Case Definition for Ebola Virus Disease (EVD)

…Epidemiologic risk factors within the past 21 days before the onset of symptoms, such as CONTACT WITH BLOOD or OTHER BODY FLUIDS or HUMAN REMAINS of a patient known to have or suspected to have EVD; RESIDENCE IN—or travel to—an area where EVD transmission is active*; or DIRECT HANDLING of [INFECTED] bats, rodents, or primates from disease-endemic areas [THE SOURCE OF ALL EBOLA OUTBREAKS].

Probable Case
A PUI who is a CONTACT of an EVD case with either a high or low risk exposure (see below)….

Household member or other CASUAL CONTACT₁ with an EVD patient

Providing patient care or CASUAL CONTACT₁ without high-risk exposure with EVD patients in health care facilities in EVD outbreak affected countries*
 

1 CASUAL CONTACT is defined as

a) BEING WITHIN 3 FEET (1 meter) or within the room or care area for a PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME (e.g., healthcare personnel, household members) while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., DROPLET and CONTACT PRECAUTIONS–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations); or

b) having DIRECT BRIEF CONTACT (e.g., shaking hands) with an EVD case while not wearing recommended personal protective equipment (i.e., DROPLET and CONTACT PRECAUTIONS–see Infection Prevention and Control Recommendations).

At this time, BRIEF INTERACTIONS, such as WALKING BY A PERSON or MOVING BY A PERSON, DO NOT CONSTITUTE CASUAL CONTACT….”

It is VERY CLEAR from the above information that transmission from person to person must be by the ‘DROPLETS or CONTACT,’ i.e. cough, sneeze, blood, saliva, semen, etc.  IT IS NOT AIRBORN!

You have to be in CLOSE PERSONAL CONTACT WITH AN EBOLA CASE WITHOUT THE PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (‘DROPLET and CONTACT PRECAUTIONS’) for a PROLONGED PERIOD OF TIME in order to contract it–such as a household member or healthcare worker.

Just walking by or brief contact is not enough to catch it.  How much less if you are watching yourself and avoiding contact with carriers?  And that only if you are in the transmission zones in west Africa.
