EBOLA: REALITY CHECK - NOT AS DEADLY AS YOU THINK

This is simply not fact.  This is a guess at best.  In fact, if you actually research the virus, it is very difficult to catch the Hemorrhagic Fever caused by Ebola Virus (or any of the 5 sub-strains).  In order to catch the illness, one must have physical contact with body fluids of an infected person or animal;  particularly the African Fruit Bat, various Monkeys and Gorillas as well as certain insects in Western Africa.

The virus itself is very weak… it MUST have a host cell to survive in, and can not sustain itself when exposed to sunlight or temperature variations.  It can not be transmitted via air… air exposure breaks the virus.  Therefore, weaponization of the virus, is near impossible and impractical.

So how deadly is Ebola overall?  In terms of actual total deaths, not very deadly at all.  Taking a look at Ebola since it was discovered in 1976, there have been a total of 15, 660 deaths, WORLDWIDE… over 38 years.  Or, about 412 deaths per year on average.  If this sounds high, keep in mind, this was over a period of 38 years.

Now let’s take a look at the major causes of death in the US;  Cancer, Cardiac Disease, Chronic Disease, Accidents, and Bacterial Illnesses.  83% of the 2 million deaths in the US every year are due to Cancer, Cardiac Disease and Chronic Illness (Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, MS, etc).

However, a rather large number, 12%, or 308,227 deaths, PER YEAR, are caused by BACTERIAL ILLNESS.  That is nearly 20x’s more deaths in one year by BACTERIAL causes, than the 15,660 TOTAL deaths from Ebola over 38 Years!

Is Ebola serious?  Sure it is… but it isn’t going to be the next Pandemic to wipe out the world.  Bacterial illness will be.  The numbers don’t lie.  The CDC is already in “panic mode” as antibiotics no longer are working, and bacteria of all varieties are already becoming increasingly resistant.  Soon, we will be out of ammunition in the “War Against Superbugs.”  That time, is actually here… please read our last article on this topic.
