Meg Health Care Pledges a $50,000 Matching Grant
MEG Health Care, the leading institution in LOP-based surgical care, has pledged a $50,000 grant to match its earlier pledge to Princess Promise.
Princess Promise is a nonprofit organization based in McKinney, TX, whose mission is to help vulnerable young girls in Sierra Leone. Since 2016, the Texas-based nonprofit has been focusing its operations in Bo Town, Sierra Leone, to help take care of young girls who have been exposed to situations of abuse, trafficking, severe neglect, early child marriage, and child labor.
The matching grant provided by MEG Health Care was gifted to Princess Promise in addition to its earlier funding of the purchase of a 1.4-acre piece of land in Newton, Sierra Leone.
The purchase of this land enables the Texas nonprofit to mimic its program in Bo Town and expand its operations to reach young girls in the rural western region of Sierra Leone. This part of the country is where almost half of its population resides, becoming one of its most overpopulated, impoverished areas.
“Princess Promise relies on donations like this to keep our ministry afloat,” says Princess Promise Director of Communications Grace Karsten. “We could not be more thankful for MEG Health Care and the impact their gift will have on the children we serve for generations to come.”
Thanks to the generosity of its founders, Melissa and Manuel Green, MEG Health Care will be able to assist Princess Promise in building a temporary home for these young women while the permanent facility on the new land is under construction.
