Move to Mexico: You Really Don't Want to Be in the States When Things Go Sideways - Truth From a 12 Year Resident

I decided to do this in two parts.  I wanted to show all the natural beauty of the three places where I spend most of my time. I keep an apartment in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, 45 minutes from Guadalajara and 35 minutes south of the Guadalajara airport.

Ajijic is rated as the largest expat community of Americans and Canadians in the world, with the 2nd best climate in the world and the lowest crime rate in the Country.. The average temperature is 78 degrees. My apartment is $65.00US a month plus $18.00US for WiFi and unlimited phone. When I first arrived, I rented a 2 bedroom condo with a garage and a pool for $650.00US. But since I have purchased a motorhome to travel about the country, I decided to find a place a bit smaller as I spend such a small amount of time here. One day I will find the perfect spot and settle in that town.

Right now I am in Boca de Iguana Hotel and RV Park. I’m parked on the beach for the winter with everything. Showers, Bathroom, Kitchen, WiFi, great sunsets and a beautiful breeze. $7.00 a day. 4 Hours from Ajijic.

I had originally planned on going to Tamasopo where I could have parked on the bank of the river within sight of the waterfalls. It is rated as one of the 15 most beautiful places in the world perhaps you can see why. They also rent cabins.

I will have to go back to Ajijic to to have an implant done by the head of the dental Dept. of the University of Guadalajara which I was surprised to find out was one of the  five best Medical Schools in the World $1,200.00.

When I’m done, I will be going to the magic town of Patzcuaro. Beating with the authentic heart of Mexico, Patzuaro has been designated a Pueblo Mágico, one of a select group of villages in Mexico whose cultural, historical or natural treasures have been deemed as simply ‘magical’. Everyone who has come to visit me here has extended their stay.

The energy of this town is otherworldly and 24 miles away we have a Costco, Home Depot, Walmart, just about anything you can think of. Here I will rent a cabin for $300.00 a month or if I take the motorhome, pay $6.46 a night. I will go to town on a little bus, a van actually, and have breakfast crepes or an American breakfast for $3.00.  The van ride costs .25. The cost of living, food, etc., is one-fourth of that in the US. My friend Jaime has a bed and breakfast for $10.00 U. S. per night.

Being at about 6,500 ft elevation, you have a perfect temperature all summer with lots of places to explore. I have so may other places which I have visited, and would not have room for them all, but I wanted to give you an idea of how diverse and beautiful the Country is.

Mexico is also the number one destination for people who choose to leave the U.S.  The food is wonderful. In Ajijic, my favorite restaurant is Quatra Mori, an Italian Restaurant run by a couple from northern Italy. It is as good as any place I have eaten in NY or Europe. Then perhaps Tango, an Argentinian steak house may be more to your liking or maybe a bit of Cajun food at Whispers. If a view is on the evening’s menu, enjoy an exotic dinner overlooking the Lake in Ajijic at O.

Tomorrow I will give you a rundown on the cost of living and the crime, neither of which should be of concern. If you have a budget of $500.00 a month, consider coming. If you have a budget of $5,000.00 a month, consider coming. A friend just bought a brand new 6,000 sq ft home in a gated community for $240.000. It is a modern design, and beautiful. Another friend just rented a brand new 2 bedroom home for $3,000.00Mx a month which is about $160.00US. Or perhaps a 1 bedroom for between $50,000 and $80,000.

When I am in town I meet my friends at the Monte Carlo Hotel where we have our own table and they let us use the hotel facilities for $500.00Mx a month or $25.00US – that includes two pools, a gym and the locker room showers. Seriously, things are about to get very bad in the US and when it does, you don’t want to be inside the border. If you have any questions or I can help just ask.

Mexico is also one of the MOST murderous countries in the world. And are SURROUNDED by even MORE murderous countries. So, if you want to be murdered – go live, er DIE there.

      • GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

I see you did your homework before you put fingers to key board and let your ignorance out. I’ve seen your posts so I knew what to expect. So do you just make things up as you go along. I want to address the fact that you told me to die with a smiley face, how old are you? 10 maybe 12. When you come at me get your facts straight I assume you know how to read. One thing i’m pretty sure of you live within 25 miles of where you were born you have never been to Mexico and I doubt you have a passport for anyone that spends as much time as you writing comments at BIN LOOSER what you see as clever and funny others see you for what you are a joke. So I will dismiss the idle rantings of an immature insecure child that has to criticize other because you feel that bad about yourself. But it didn’t help did it. It will get better when you grow up. Now here are Countries that have more deaths than Mexico. Afghanistan, Chad, South Africa, Honduras, Mali, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Congo, Thailand, Jamaica, South Africa, Guatemala, Lebanon, Philippines, Ukraine, Honduras, Egypt, Venezuela, Nigeria, El Salvador, Yemen, Colombia. You are really sad.

You might want to tell UNODC they’re wrong…

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

… and Mexico isn’t part of the Americas and how they’ve put this region at the top of the murder rate list by mistake.

Oh and “looser” better applies to your mother than it does to Pink Slime.

          • GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

            Now thats not nice. lol

            • Mayhem

I bet you don’t make that mistake again though.

Anyway of the countries you can walk to, say after the big reset when planes aren’t working for whatever reason, Mexico isn’t anything to be heading towards and they’re none too fond of Yanks in case you haven’t noticed.

Pinky, Doesn’t Mexico Border America?

Its a good thing Trump is going to finish that wall half built by Obama to keep you IN and even raised it to 9 meters along California.

Notice there isn’t a wall along the Canadian Border.

        • Pink Slime

LOL! What are you doing reading every comment of mine?

And you named several countries that surround Mexico, you idiot!

          • GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

you said mexico is #1 in crime and murder when obviously it’s not. surrounded by doesn’t make it in. I love explaining obviously simple facts and you say i’m an idiot. let me explain in simple terms. If 25 other countries have more crime mexico by fact must have less and can’t be number 1. Comic books may work better for you. Maybe Dr Zeuss. Move along. You are what is commonly referred to as a troll you have added nothing of fact to the conversation. Which is par for the course. Comics.

            • Pink Slime

No, you idiot. I said one of the MOST, but not thee most.

What grade level do you read? This is an ADULT site, kid.

      • raburgeson

        You just covered it all.

      • CA

You’re right is surrounded by MORE murderous countries, to the north USA, to the west, Hawaii (USA), and to the east, all deep water exploration platforms (USA property)…

      • Pink Slime

Sean, South of Mexico and Southern America has very high crime rates.

Whataburger across from Wal-Mart in Brownsville Texas had old people one morning talking about their house in Guadalajara Mexico

      • GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

Thanx, Guadalajara is nice and I might add safe but not my cup of tea. I wanted to be in a more urban area. Guadalajara is a trip like the old days people repair or rebuild alternators and generators like the old days. You can have anything done and anything fixed and buy anything. Come down one day when work is finished.

      Hello Mr Get Out.

      Good article

I have only one question: Are they spraying the chemtrails there? (I left the states mainly because of the spraying, and I live in Ecuador a lot of the time now. It seems to me the further north you go, the heavier they are spraying.)

      • GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN

I have not seen any chemtrails ( I have reading they are running out of money and if Trump arrests the deep State they should be gone ) in about two months. How about by you? I know several people that live in Ecuador and it’s said to be very nice but for minor street crime. How do you like it? The biggest complaint is so few gringos which to me woudn’t be complaint.
