In Merida, Yucatan, an intense security operation is being implemented at the Oral Justice Center in Mérida, near the Mérida Prison, where the alleged leader of the Gulf Cartel, Eleazar Medina Rojas ‘El Chelelo’, arrested a few days ago, was to be presented.

In a statement from the Mexican Navy: “Eleazar Medina Rojas is originally from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, and has a criminal record for illegally entering the United States of America, in addition to having several accusations against him for drug trafficking, rape and disappearance of people in that country,” it says.

The detainees were placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office, where the integration of the corresponding folder began.
