Zapopan, Jalisco: 75 bags with human remains so far found

Almost a week after a clandestine grave was located in the La Primavera neighborhood in Zapopan, there are 75 exhumed bags containing human remains, according to the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office on Monday.

Since the day of its discovery, the site is guarded by National Guard personnel, police officers from different corporations, Civil Protection and Firefighters of Jalisco and experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences.

For the extraction of the bags, which have been found to a depth of 10 meters, heavy machinery has been used.

Although the search for remains in the area has not been concluded, it is speculated that the number of bags could increase, since as the days have progressed more and more have been discovered. In the course of Sunday alone, 20 plastic bags that contained human body parts were retrieved

Despite the finding, the elements of Forensic Sciences have not been able to determine the number of bodies, since it is presumed that most of the remains are mutilated and the bags cannot be maneuvered until the total extraction is completed.

It will be at a later time when the cadaveric evolution and possible causes of death are determined.
