Matteo Salvini Routs Italy's Deceitful Courts

Left controlled regimes notoriously use their country’s legal system to ambush their populist opponents. Many judges’ positions are rubber-stamped by their regimes and turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.

Recently, the Agrigento prosecutor’s office capitulated after trying to nail the former Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini by accusing him of crimes of kidnapping and omission of official records.

The prosecutors withdrew the case of the 164 illegal immigrants who, after being recovered off the coast of Libya, Open Arms, the Spanish NGO founded in 2015 by the Catalan Oscar Camps, had taken to the port of Lampedusa. 

Salvini, then Italy’s Interior Minister had blocked the illegal migrants for twenty days in an attempt to enforce Italy’s Security Decree.  The prosecutors began an investigation of the rejection similar to the one already filed on the Diciotti case. 

In this latest failed case against the popular politician, the accusations are omission of office acts and abuse of office. What matters is that the judicial robes now discover a sacrosanct principle: Non-governmental organisations must land (their passengers) in their own country.

Ever since Matteo Salvini began his campaign against illegal immigration, the magistrates have done everything to put him in under the wheels. 

“For me, defending my country is always a medal”, the ex-interior minister repeated on more than one occasion despite judicial persecution, inquiries and repeated attempts by various magistrates to dismantle the security decrees to reopen Italian ports. 

Now, however, the humiliated justice ministers’ court has put on paper that the line taken by the Northern League leader is not only legitimate but should also be respected at European level. 

The indications drawn from international Conventions and agreements establish that the State of the first contact can only identify itself with that of the ship that provided for the rescue.  Therefore it is not the responsibility of Italy to accept migrants from George Soros sponsored organisations that continue to knock on their doors. 

In the case of Alan Kurdi, which after being turned away from Italy had headed to Malta, Salvini did right to block the vessel as the boat is German flagged. 

Also because, despite the fact that in some cases the coasts of the original country of the ship are far away, ”the legislation does not offer suitable solutions for the purpose of an effective intervention aimed at protecting the safety of migrants ”, even when they are in danger.

There will be no trial on the case of illegal immigrants stuck on board the Sea Eye last April. ”Now I am curious to see at this point what the other prosecutors will decide”, Salvini remarked after archiving the dropped case. 

Unfortunately, as Giovanni Bianconi already anticipates in the Corriere della Sera, the provision of the court of ministers will not put an end to other investigations. 

However, the motivations of the Rome ministerial college remain a political triumph the Northern League leader who immediately insisted that ”finally” he was recognized by a judge that ”blocking unauthorized landings of immigrants is not a crime”. 

On the basis of this ruling, Salvini humiliated the courts every time he was spurred by the Minister of the Interior to oppose the blitz of foreign NGOs in Italian ports. 

Even when, as in the case of the Sea Watch 3, Carola Rackete had even managed to break the entry ban and ram a Guardia di Finanza patrol boat to enter the port of Lampedusa (watch the video). For Italy’s left-wing Mafia left Matteo Salvini remains a champion of civilization and the people of the common will.
