Atlixco, Puebla: CJNG Extortion Phone Calls Have Increased

 It’s a telephone number from Morelos, they claim to belong to the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación and they want a taxation in exchange for the protection of families.

Above all, according to representatives from the auxiliary presidency of Metepec, the largest in Atlixco, locals have denounced at least 15 different calls.

“It’s a telephone number from Morelos, they claim to be from the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación and they want a taxation for the protection of our families,” said an official from that community.

Meanwhile, some owners of small establishments in the city center exposed their complaints about the constant calls made to mobile phones.

“A moment ago one of my employees was crying because they were trying to extort her for money and she fell for their trap. She was about to lose 2,000 pesos,” said the owner of a taqueria located a block from the towns square. 

The local police admitted the existence of reports in this regard, but no one has filed any complaints for the aforementioned crime.
