Mexicali, Baja California: Municipal Policeman Shot Outside Of His House

Armed criminals surprised an element of the Municipal Police of Mexicali when he left his home located in the Las Palmeras neighborhood, west of the city.

It was 10:30 a.m. this Friday, September 10, when the call was issued informing about the attack against the victim identified as Luis Quintero Machado, a municipal agent who was in civilian clothes.

Elements from all security corporations went to the home located on Francia Avenue, where they treated the wounded man, who was hit by gunfire in the chest and arm.

According to the narrative of the events, four armed individuals approached the victim when he left his house and shot him repeatedly.

The criminals – between 4 and 5 subjects – wore red outfits and fled aboard a Honda vehicle that headed towards the Sports Center.

The victim was taken to the General Hospital of Mexicali where he perished while receiving medical attention in the emergency area.

Experts were working on the scene collecting evidence, while Homicide personnel collected data and testimonies.

Officer Quintero Machado had recently participated in police operations and interventions related to serious and high-impact crimes, according to agents who intervened in the matter.
