Navy Seizes 39 Tons Of Cocaine In Ensenada

Semar agents seized three containers, which were on board a container ship and stored 39 kilos of cocaine inside.
Elements of the Second Naval Region of the Secretariat of the Navy-Mexican Navy (Semar) in coordination with the Customs and Maritime Authorities of the Port of Ensenada, secured three containers, which were on board a container ship and inside the ship stored approximately 39,820 (thirty-nine thousand, eight hundred and twenty) kilograms of material contaminated with cocaine.
Therefore, samples of the aforementioned material were sent to the Pharmacology and Toxicology laboratories of the Secretariat of the Navy and the National Customs Agency of Mexico, for their respective analysis, giving a positive result for cocaine, with an approximate weight of 39,820 (thirty-nine thousand, eight hundred and twenty) kilograms, which were made available to the FGR, for the integration of the corresponding investigation folder.
It is important to mention, that the above was carried out based on the Protocol of Performance of Naval Personnel in Coast Guard functions, published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on April 06, 2018, which attributes the participation of naval personnel in the performance of their duties, acting in coordination with air, land and surface units, as well as with the competent authorities, in accordance with the provisions of the National Law on the Use of Force and in strict respect for Human Rights.
