Celaya, Guanajuato: Armed Attack On Ambulances Leaves Two Dead

The fire department arrived to put out the fire in the units. 

On the afternoon of this Monday, April 22, private service ambulances with the company name SMB, were the target of attacks in two different events, in one of them they were first attacked with gunfire and later the unit was set on fire, two men lost their lives.

The first incident was reported around 5:20 p.m., after phone calls alerted the municipal authority about the armed attack on the crew of an ambulance on Esperanza Street next to the Trinity Parish in the limits of the Girasoles and Valle del Real colonies.

Following  the reports from operators of the Command, Control, Communications and Computing Center (C4), they sent the Civil Protection and Firefighters units of Celaya, who upon arriving at the scene extinguished the flames.

In this incident there is talk of two corpses inside the ambulance.

While firefighters put out the fire in the unit on Esperanza Street, the fire of two other ambulances was reported in the Álamos neighborhood.

Both events led to the mobilization of elements of the Mexican Army, National Guard, and elements of the Celaya Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCC).
