Why 2013 marks a watershed in human history: the year when humanoid robots became commercially profitable.

Industrial robots have been with us for quite some time now – so one can say that the Robotic Age began roughly in 2000 AD. But humanoid robots have become part and parcel of factories only in 2012-13, mainly 2013.

Factories that produce humanoid robots are now working overtime to supply these commercial multi-purpose humanoids. Even these PRIMITIVE multi-purpose humanoids perform BETTER than expert workers at many factory tasks.

That is not all. Driven by the Fukuyama disaster, civilian humanoid programs have radically shifted gear to build emergency service robots. These robots – being designed – are FAR more effective than anything ever conceived before. The DARPA robotics challenge has added a sense of competition and urgency to the whole process. Within 7 years robots will be performing almost all mechanical tasks that humans can – including driving vehicles (of course, driverless vehicles may well form part of the package).

2013 will be remembered as the year when HUMANOID robots became commercially successful, and started DIRECTLY REPLACING HUMANS.
