Don't Commit Suicide: Vasireddy Padma Appeals To Victims Of Loan Apps

Rajahmundry (BIN – IC): AP State Women’s Commission Chairperson Mrs. Vasireddy Padma said that the government is serious about the harassment of loan apps and gave a call to not commit suicide due to fear of harassment. She reacted strongly to the incident that happened in Rajahmundry. On Thursday, she visited the victim’s family and entrusted two orphaned children to the care of child welfare department. Moved by this incident, Chief Minister Mr. Jagan announced Rs. Ten lakh aid for the orphaned children. Mrs. Vasireddy along with Collector Mrs. Madavi Latha and MP Margani Mr. Bharat handed over the checks to the victim’s family. The women and child welfare officers were directed to make suitable arrangements for the care of the children.

Speaking to media on this occasion, Mrs. Vasireddy Padma said that the government is serious about the harassment of loan apps. She said that the Chief Minister was shocked by the suicide incident of Rajahmundry couple. She reminded that the Home Department, the Home Minister and the DGP also reacted strongly to the two consecutive incidents of this kind of harassment in the past. She reminded that earlier YSRCP MPs Mr. Vijayasai Reddy, Mr. Mithun Reddy and Mr. Margani Bharat raised the issue of loan apps in the Parliament. Fearing the blackmailing of the app administrators who would morph and share nude pictures, the families expressed their concern that are committing  suicide due to severe humiliation, she said. She also advised to use systems like Disha app in time so as not to get depressed if someone insults or harasses you in the name of loan. She reiterated not to end lives in a moment of shame. She said that along with the women’s commission, the government will also stand by the victims in all ways.
