Conducting National Deworming Day At Devagiri ZP High School on Wedenesday, 21-Sep- 2022.

• Raising students’ awareness on the importance of deworming
• Deworming medicine distributed to 400 students

Devagiri (BIN – IC): On the occasion of National Deworming Day, Health Community Personnel distributed deworming medicine to the students of Devagiri ZP High School on Wednesday. Community Health Officer Mr. Krishna said that deworming medicine (Albendazole) had been distributed to 400 students in anganwadi, primary and high schools. As part of this occasion, CHO conducted a class to raise awareness of students on the importance of deworming.

On this occasion, Community Health Officer explained that due to roundworms, the quality of life of children is reduced and physical growth and mental growth are stunted. Parasites or worms in the soil enter the body through the soles of humans. They get into the intestines and cause weakness, anemia, indigestion, weight loss, stomach ache, diarrhea, vomiting etc. In order to overcome the problems caused by these, hands and utensils must be kept clean. He also said that children aged 1 to 19 years can consume this medicine. Albendazole is an anthelmintic medicine which is given in the form of pill and syrup depending on the age and body weight of the child. He added that national deworming day is organized twice a year.

Hindi pandit Mrs. Jayaleela, English teacher Mrs. Mercy Vijayaleela, ANM Mrs. Vijayalakshmi, Asha activist Mrs. Venkatanarsamma and other health personnel participated in this program.
