Teachers Raise Slogans Demanding Abolition Of CPS

Bommanahal (BIN – IC): In response to the call given by the state leadership of FAPTO (Federation of Andhra Pradesh Teachers’ Organizations), all teachers observed September 1 as the Black Day on Thursday wearing black badges across Bommanahal Mandal. Teachers also staged a peaceful protest at Mandal Resource Centre at 4 pm and submitted a petition to Mr. Manju.

At the peaceful portest, the teachers raised slogans demanding the abolition of CPS (Contributory Pension Scheme) and the revival of OPS (Old Pension Scheme). They also sought the exemption from the responsibility of uploading information on so many apps introduced by the school education authorities.

APUTF District President Mr. Govindarajulu said that they are demanding to cancel the CPS and reinstate the OPS as promised. Also the cancellation of so many apps thus allowing all teachers to have the adequate time for teaching, he added.

All teachers in all schools across the state are expressing their dissent with the black badges to emphasize the problem they have been facing, some teachers said. It is high time for the government to fulfil the promises made during the last election campaign, they added.

APUTF Mandal Secretary Mr. Anjaneyulu, Mandal Vice President Mrs. Vanisree, Mrs. Saileela, Mr. Chandrasekhar and other  teachers took part in the peaceful protest.
