RTPP Contract Workers' JAC Seeking Regularization
RTPP contract workers holding agitation program on Wednesday, 23-Nov-2022.
- Assurance of regularization remains unfulfilled despite four years
- Seeking release of speacial GO for regularization as Genco released GO No. 163 for 37 workers
- Urging to remember to fulfill the promises given while in the opposition
RTPP (BIN – IC): Contract workers under the aegis of Joint Action Committee are seeking regularization of their employment. To that effect, the contract workers have been holding agitation programs for two days. Despite the intense rain, the agitation continued on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, the workers’ JAC leaders said… we are waiting with hope that our jobs will be regularized. We have been working for decades with the meagre salaries. The government is doing injustice to the electricity contract workers. A few days ago, APGENCO released GO No. 163 and regularized 37 workers belonging to Pulivendula constituency and transferred them to RTPP. As APGENCO regularized them, so regularize us unconditionally by issuing a special GO, the JAC leaders of RTPP demanded.
JAC leaders urged the current MLAs and MPs of Kadapa to remember the their promises of regularization made while they were in opposition.
JAC leaders said that the current power minister is not responding to the fair demand of the contract workers. We have started agitations from CM’s own district from where he promised the regularization upon coming to power, which is still remaining unfulfilled, they added.
JAC leaders said that all trade unions and other JACs declared their full support for this peaceful struggle. They assured to continue their support in the future. Various agitation programs will be organized under the auspices of the JAC.
