SC Classification Ruling: SC, ST Anti-Classification Struggle Samithi Demands Withdrawal

Adilabad – Telangana (Before It’s News – IC): State President Gavvala Srikanth of the SC, ST Anti-Classification Struggle Samithi has called for the withdrawal of the Supreme Court’s classification judgment, urging a united movement against the ruling. Speaking at the Netakani Polala Festival in Adilabad District, Srikanth emphasized the need for proportional classification based on caste census data.

• Demand for withdrawal of ruling

Addressing a large gathering at the Netakani Polala Festival near the statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar in Utnoor Division, Gavvala Srikanth, the State President of the SC, ST Anti-Classification Struggle Samithi, strongly opposed the Supreme Court’s recent classification judgment. He urged the community to mobilize against the ruling, drawing parallels between the festival’s mass participation and the needed movement to challenge the court’s decision.

• Call for proportional classification

Srikanth advocated for a proportional classification of the population following the completion of the caste census in the Legislative Assembly. He alleged the BJP of fostering divisions between communities through the current classification, emphasizing that Bahujans must unite against what he described as the BJP’s divisive tactics.

• Criticism of BJP and Dalit leaders’ role

Srikanth further criticized certain Dalit leaders, suggesting that they have become pawns in the BJP’s strategy. He accused them of enjoying comforts while the broader Bahujan community struggles. The speech was a rallying cry for solidarity among those opposing the classification, urging them to come together in their resistance.

• Mass participation and support

The event saw the participation of several key members, including Kothapalli Gangesh, Dulle Venkatesh, Marsukola Tirupati Durgam Swami, Bandari Ashok, Borlakunta Durgaiah, Chandrapal, and Jadi Kesev and others in support of the movement. The gathering in large number reflected growing discontent and the resolve to challenge the classification judgment.

This demand for the withdrawal of the Supreme Court’s ruling highlights ongoing tensions and calls for solidarity among those affected by the decision.
