Andhra Pradesh: Dalits in Kadapa have been staging a 19-day-long relay hunger strike at the RDO office, demanding the return of land in Chinna Chowk allegedly encroached upon by upper castes, and criticizing the government’s continued inaction.

The disputed land in survey number 919/1 (subdivisions 1145, 1146) at Chinna Chowk farm, Kadapa, was assigned to Dalits. Protesters demand legal action against upper-caste individuals accused of illegal occupation.

Led by the Dalit Tribal Rights Struggle Association, protestors stood upside down in a symbolic act of resistance. Venkatesh and Madagalam Prasad, honorary presidents, questioned the silence of authorities despite daily petitions and peaceful fasting.
