Eight Men Found Burned to Death in Mexico, Probably Linked to Drug War

On Saturday, the bodies of eight men found burned inside of a burned out truck in Queretaro, said officials. According to officials, these men were found with wire around their hands, which were then tied around their backs. The killings most likely occurred elsewhere, says the Times of India:

Also Saturday, in the northern state of Chihuahua, officials reported that gunmen killed four police officers in a series of attacks on patrol cars in the border city of Ciudad Juarez on Friday. 

State police spokesman Fidel Banuelos said the first attack killed two brothers who were patrolling together but worked for different agencies. 

Police and prosecutors said two more officers were wounded in two other attacks. 

NewsOK says that “there was no immediate information on possible motives. Nearly 2,500 people have died in drug-related violence this year in the city across from El Paso, Texas.” The recent slayings were probably related to the massive drug war thats going down in Mexico.

The Examiner recently did a feature on the notorious city of Ciudad Juarez, located just outside of El Paso, Texas. Ciudad Juarez recently had an astounding 2,500 murders in the past 18 months. The city has about 1.6 million people. When you do the math, thats about 156 murders per 100,000 people for 18 months. Mind you, a bad city like Detroit has about 44 murders per 100,000 in a year. The border between El Paso, Texas – population: 600,000 and Juarez, Mexico – population: 1.5 million – is the most dangerous border in America.  This border is situated on the southwestern tip /edge of the United States and Mexico. 


On one side of the border is the second-safest city of its size in the United States – after Honolulu – with only 18 murders in 2008. On the other side of the border is a lawless city ruled by drug lords where the death toll for the last 18 months is more than 2,500 and counting. 


“I don’t think the average American has any idea of what’s going on immediately south of our border,” says Kevin Kozak, acting special agent in charge of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s office of investigations in El Paso. “It’s almost beyond belief.” 


Today, Juarez, Mexico looks a lot like a lawless Dodge City, Kansas did in 1850. Without any law enforcement entity capable of imposing order and an abundance of powerful drug cartels that kill and plunder at will, living on the border of this bad land is like living on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
