Only a third of those software development projects were successful and that these projects were completed on the allotted budget and on time and many individuals are using these software. More than 40 percent of those projects were considered as challenges, projects that were late, way over the budget or not used. The rest were considered as failures; projects that weren’t completed or stopped; projects that were rejected before it was completed.

The good news is that the success rate of many developed software has by 5 percent compared to 2 years prior to the survey.
