% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Previously we have spoken on ‘What is Mold’ and now is the time to move further with what is yellow mold. It is also a type of fungus which grows in dark and damp areas. If occurs at home then you need good treatment to remove it from its root or else face health hazards like allergies or asthma.

Yellow mold comes in variety of types for say its appearance is white and many yellow molds somehow tinged with white. There are certain species of mold out of which yellow mold is a type. The best way to treat it is by hiring a professional who can test it in lab and find the best cure. If left untreated, it can expand in the area at home and can even spread its disease. There is one type of mold that remains toxic and basically comes from a family named ‘Aspergillus’ genus. This group includes hundreds of other species, all come under mold. Several molds include toxic yellow variety as well and can be fatal to both humans and animals.

If yellow colored mold is found in building, it must be treated with caution rather than leaving it growing. It is a sign of very damp area left for longer time. It is recommended to wear gloves and do not touch it. Best to wear a mask along to avoid breathing problem which it can affect as it passes on air. If there is any leak on walls then there are high chances that the mold can occur. The area should be treated and dried from moisture or else it is likely that the mold comes back.

Despite this type, there is one more type of mold that comes in yellow color and is the species named Serpula lacrymans. It turns dark yellow and then golden color with white spores that keep growing from it. For such mold, warmth and moisture are the ideal places to grow and breed. If there is enough moisture then they can even grow and rot. This type of mold was first documented during the early 1700s and has been treated to avoid health complications.

The best way to get rid of yellow mold is to have good ventilation at your home, limit the moisture and keep the surrounding clean. If there is no moisture there will not be mold. Regular cleaning is an ideal option to keep away from mold. Treat yellow mold by using a mix of soap, warm water, diluted bleach, or other commercial cleaning products.
