Athens: Truck driver drags petrol employee to avoid paying for filled tank (video)

A gas station in Menidi, a suburb of western Athens. A small truck with two passengers arrives at the station and asks the employee to fill the tank. At a total cost of 95 euro. While the tank is been filled up,  the owner’s wife approaches the truck from the driver’s side to hinder that the customer may go away without paying. Apparently a common practice in recent times of economic crisis in the area.

The moment the gasoline hose is being removed from the truck, the passenger gives a signal to the driver to start the engine and drive away.

The owner’s wife jumps at the truck window to hinder the escape. However the driver puts on speed, the woman is being dragged several meters, while at the end the driver pushes her away from the window. It’s a miracle the woman was not caught under the wheels of the driving truck.

The woman survived with a broken hip. She had noted the licence plate number and gave it to police.

The police has reportedly identified the truck owner and has launched a manhunt to catch the two suspects.
