Kenosha Police Arrest Would-Be Rioters

TRUNEWS with RICK WILES According to the Kenosha Police Department, officers arrested nine people from out-of-state who appear to have been preparing to sow even more chaos Wednesday night in the Wisconsin city. The KPD statement says it received a citizen tip alerting it to several “suspicious” vehicles – a school bus and bread truck that had each been painted black – and a tan minivan with out-of-state plates that were meeting in a remote parking lot. It further states: “Acting on this information Kenosha Police Officers located the suspicious vehicles and took up surveillance. Kenosha police were assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service … Kenosha police confirmed the out-of-state license plates. “Police followed the vehicles to a gas station … Police observed the occupants of the black bus and bread truck exit and attempt to fill multiple fuel cans. “Suspecting that the occupants of these vehicles were preparing for criminal activity related to the civil unrest, officers attempted to make contact and investigate. The officers exited their vehicles, identified themselves, were wearing appropriate identification, and then detained the occupants of the bus and bread truck. “The minivan attempted to drive away, however, Kenosha police stopped this vehicle and ultimately forced entry to the minivan and arrested the occupants.” The statement also notes that once inside the vehicles, Kenosha police found helmets, gas masks, protective vests, illegal fireworks, and suspected drugs. In all, nine people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Simultaneously, a group calling itself Riot Kitchen – which claims it only feeds the “peaceful protesters” – announced that its entire crew was arrested. The group claims the group was “kidnapped” in broad daylight by “feds in unmarked vans” and has begun a Venmo fundraising campaign, while a previous GoFundMe campaign has now collected more than $47,000. It says it was founded by a “queer black woman” named Maehem in order to feed George Floyd rioters in Seattle. The group also claims to have operated a fully functioning kitchen in the CHOP zone in Seattle. In July, it announced it was expanding its operations to Portland and other cities across the U.S. to support “protests.” The minivan in the video, while grainy, appears to have Oregon license plates.
