PLA Continues to Warn Chinese People of War with U.S.

TRUNEWS with RICK WILES In recent days, the People’s Liberation Army has ramped up its warnings to the Chinese people that it is preparing for war with the U.S. The South China Morning Post reports that since April, drills aimed at countering chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear attacks – called anti-CBRN warfare – has become a central training focus for the PLA’s Western Theater Command and its Rocket Force troops. It further reported on a drill from over the weekend: “One drill video posted online on August 22 showed four first aid brigades from the Rocket Force called to rescue wounded soldiers from a base under a simulated nuclear weapons at night. The base was more than 2,000km (1,240 miles) away and the medical officers and first aid crews also needed to overcome “accidents” and “raids” on their way to the nuclear battlefield, according to the video.” Click here to see the video: https://tinyurl.com/y3jaxpov Military commentator Song Zhongping, a retired instructor with the Second Artillery Force – the predecessor to the PLA’s Rocket Force – told Phoenix Television: “The U.S. doesn’t give up on taking pre-emptive nuclear strikes. As China’s strategic missile force, the Rocket Force is also the major target of their American rival. It’s a must for the Rocket Force to prepare for all worst-case scenarios, including how to self-rescue when being attacked by enemies or a nuke leak happens, as well as other emergency simulation drills.” The CBRN drills were followed closely by the announcement of a massive navy exercise to be carried out across four regions – including two areas of the disputed South China Sea – that is meant to simulate a multiple-front battle with Taiwan and the U.S. Other drills will held in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Gulf. Late last month, Taiwan’s foreign minister, Joseph Wu, warned that China’s increased military activity was a prelude to an invasion of the self-ruled island. The U.S. already has the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan in the area, where it is carrying out air operations with support from its carrier strike group – which includes the guided missile cruiser USS Antietam and the guided missile destroyers USS Mustin and USS Rafael Peralta. Meanwhile, China has injected itself into the nuclear standoff between Pakistan and India, providing billions of dollars’ worth of aircraft, weaponry, and now, advanced warships to Islamabad. Voice of America reports the first high-tech Type-054 frigate was officially launched Sunday from the Hudong Zhonghua Shipyard in Shanghai. The Type-054 is similar in size and armament to the Talwar class frigates built by Russia and employed by the Indian Navy. India has six of these warships, which are considered “stealthy” and are armed to the teeth with guided missiles. India also employs a much larger class of frigate, the Shivalik class, which is nearly 50 percent larger and armed with anti-ship cruise missiles. Pakistan is set to receive three more Type-054 frigates in the coming year. Their arrival will effectively double the Pakistani Navy’s combat power.
