Direct Prophecy Alert: Russia In Serious Talks With Lebanon To Harvest Gas/oil off Israel Coast; PA To Look To UN For State

The US has officially dropped its push for Israel to renew its settlement freeze for another 90 days. Reports confirm that Jerusalem was the impediment that doomed the settlement freeze renewal. Israeli officials refused to include East Jerusalem as part of the settlement freeze agreement.

The EU said on Tuesday that Israel’s policies toward East Jerusalem have become a serious problem toward creating a Palestinian state:

“If current trends are not stopped as a matter of urgency, the prospect of east Jerusalem as the future capital of a Palestinian state becomes increasingly unlikely and unworkable,” warns an annual EU report seen by AFP.

“This in turn seriously endangers the chances of a sustainable peace on the basis of two states, with Jerusalem as their future capital (AFP).”

Palestinian officials are now questioning whether the US has the ability to bring Israel in line with the wishes of the international community.  Senior PLO official, Abed Rabbo, “whose stand represents the official Palestinian leadership, said the US failure proved that the exclusive American efforts had been utilized to the fullest and that ‘we must turn to the broader framework of the international community’ – referring to the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council (ynetnews).”

I have been saying for many years that the US would eventually have to yield their dominant position in Middle East peace talks. As recent as a couple of days ago I reiterated this statement in a video presentation.  In the same video presentation, I reported that Brazil had recognized a Palestinian state. I indicated their recognition would not be detrimental to Israel in and of itself, but if it multiplied into a rash of nations, it could influence the US. Now a couple of days later, more nations have followed Brazil’s lead and have also recognized the Palestine state.  Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat has recognized the momentum and has called on the US government to recognize a Palestinian state with 1967 borders.  

Make no mistake, Israel will eventually be forced by the US to give in to international pressure. That doesn’t necessarily mean the US will be leading the peace process when this takes place. However, you can bet they will be playing a vital role as the leading member of the five permanent UN voting nations. Israel’s worst nightmare would be for the US to give into international pressure and abstain from vetoing UN recognition of a Palestinian state along 1967 borders. That day looks to be coming sooner than later.

One more thing, I said in a prophecy article shortly after Barack Obama was elected US president that he would not likely turn out to be the Antichrist, but his inexperience could make way for the Antichrist (Article# 849).  I still hold that belief.  The US appears to be losing its dominant position and the respect of the world under Mr. Obama’s watch.  Of course, that statement won’t sit very well with those who (Christians) vehemently backed to him in 2008.  I can still remember vividly the article I wrote that outlined the curse of God that would be upon this nation (US) if Mr. Obama were to be elected (Article# 837). I don’t think the outcome can be debated as to whether that has become true. But God is still on the throne, and His formula for spiritual, physical, and material success of a nation can be activated at any time if Christians will only listen. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (II Chronicles 7:14).”  The prayers and obedience of Christians made this nation great and it will be the prayerlessness and disobedience of carnal Christians that will finally destroy it.

In other news, a direct prophecy has begun to enter a new stage.  Debkafile is reporting that Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has taken a keen interest in the mammoth untapped offshore energy potential just off Lebanon’s coast.  Sources say he first took notice last year when Israel uncovered the Tamar, Dalit and Leviathan discoveries. Here is an excerpt from the article:

With his sharp instincts for chances in the field of energy, Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin was stirred into discreet action by Israeli entrepreneurs’ discovery in the past year of a gas bonanza – three fields, dubbed Tamar, Dalit and Leviathan, off Israel’s Mediterranean coast, debkafile‘s Moscow sources report. Their currently estimated reserves of 25 trillion cubic feet would more than cover Israel’s energy needs and enable it to become a gas exporter, revolutionizing an economy which has developed despite a paucity of natural resources.

Moscow accordingly went into action by inviting Hariri for a visit, which took place Nov. 16-17.

With his back to the wall in a life-and-death struggle to save his government from falling into the hands of Hizballah, the Lebanese prime minister was granted the rare honor of an elaborate welcome by both Putin and President Dmitry Medvedev. The Russian prime minister then pitched into his spiel: Moscow could help Lebanon place itself on the map of oil and gas fields and pipelines in the eastern Mediterranean. But to exploit its oil and gas wealth under the sea, Lebanon needed Russia as energy partner and provider of funds, equipment and skilled labor.

Russia would reciprocate with heavy investments in the Lebanese economy that would restore Beirut to its former prestige as financial capital of the Middle East and an assured supply of advanced weapons at token prices to secure those investments (Debkafile).

Turkey has also staked a claim in this partnership and this is seen to be the real reason behind Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to Lebanon a few weeks back.  

Whether this report is true or not is still unknown, but one things for sure, if true, don’t look for the rumored Hezbollah coup to materialize. You should also take note how vehemently protective Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was when Israel was considering attacking Lebanon in the event of a coup.  Erdogan basically said, any attack on Lebanon, Turkey would use its full military might to put it down.

This report is absolutely a shocking page out of Bible prophecy. The Bible says in Ezekiel 38:2-4a, “Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal: And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army.

The Bible says, in the last days, Gog, Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal (Russia and former Soviet nations), will be intrigued by the land of Israel. God says they will be so intrigued, they will not be able to resist looking away as if hooks were placed in their jaw. They literally won’t be able to. So what is this intrigue with Israel that will so captivate them? The Bible makes it clear in verse 12 of the same chapter that it will be a “spoil” of some sort.

Both Russia (dominating partner) and Turkey are eyeing the potential untapped natural resources of Lebanon. These two partners are listed in Ezekiel 38:3-6, along with an Islamic alliance, that will stage an attack on Israel in the last days. As you know, this battle is still yet future.

I have no doubt that this move by Russia is setting the stage for the soon coming battle of Gog and Magog. Russia has no real animosity toward Israel, and in fact, are quite civil toward each other in the international community. However, Russia is an international leader in both natural gas and oil, and fully intend to keep their dominate position.

This predicted future attack on Israel, led by Russia, will be strictly business. With Israel’s closest ally (US) embroiled in two wars, and Russia’s successful campaign against Georgia in the face of weak US threats (2008), Russia will gamble that the US will not come to Israel’s aid. The Biblical account of this war bares that to be the case. Russia will also take this opportunity to use Israel’s natural enemies against them. When they come calling, much of the Islamic world will come with them. Russia will reap the spoils and the Islamic world will finally push Israel into the sea as a great storm (Ezekiel 38:9). It will be a marriage made by Allah so it will seem. However, just as this great Islamic Army is about to embark on their greatest victory, God will miraculously step in and completely decimate them on the mountains of Israel. It will be a stunning and shocking defeat for the Islamic world, and the Bible says, the world will see it as from God (Ezekiel 38:23).

Could this be another step toward this future shocking act of God on behalf of his people Israel? I believe so, and you will likely see it come to pass in your lifetime.
