Did Moses Allude To A Second Exodus?

For thirty-five hundred years one of the greatest mysteries of the Bible has eluded rabbis and scholars alike; the location for the Red Sea Crossing, Israel’s route of escape after four hundred years of bondage. What body of water did the children of Israel cross in their journey?

In modern times there has been significant research to resolve a portion of this mystery by such notable researches as Ron Wyatt, Viveka Ponten, and Jim and Penny Caldwell. At the heart of the question has been the Hebrew word Suph and debate over where the crossing took place.

This Hebrew word traditionally translated in many English Bibles merely as red when in fact its correct meaning is reeds as verified by Rashi and Ibn Ezra, Jewish scholars and commentators on the Torah. A little over seventy years ago, the Exodus account was repeated in modern times. An exodus of biblical proportions; children of the Diaspora wandering in a wilderness pursued by a modern day Pharaoh named Hitler.

This group of wandering Jews was led by a modern day Moses; a man named Tuvia Bielski.  Like their forefathers, we see in every way a complete repeat of history; four hundred years of anti-Semitism by different dictators in the land of the north, Belorussia. When “pharaoh” pursued them, Tuvia was forced to make the decision much like his forefather Moses; stay and fight and probably die, or cross the sea – the sea of reeds.

I stumbled onto this story one evening when watching the movie “Defiance” with my wife, Jana.  Defiance is the true story of three brothers who defied the invading Germans, who were intent on annihilating the Jewish people. After nearly four hundred years of oppression in a territory known as Belorussia near the town of Novagrudok, the Jewish people had learned to adapt somewhat to the anti-Semitic environment. From the mid-fifteen hundred’s until the invasion of the Hitler’s killing machine, the Jews had endured the hardships of life that came with bondage much like that of their forefathers under the hand of the Egyptian Pharaohs.

As I watched this incredible film I noticed a Moses-like character rise on the scene; played by Daniel Craig was a real life hero, Tuvia Bielski. This epic event depicted on the big screen climaxed for me when I saw this massive number of Jews poised at the edge of a true “sea of reeds.” As if some supernatural feeling came over me, I jumped from the couch and pressed pause on our TV. “That is what Moses what talking about!” I blurted out with unbelievable emotion.

My wife, stunned by my reaction, said, “What are you talking about?” In an instant I could see it, as if the Almighty Himself was showing me different passages from the Tanakh (Bible), “Yam Suph!” I cried.

I tried to gather this mass influx of thoughts and relay them back to my wife.  “No one has ever truly understood why Moses calls the Red Sea – Yam Suph.”, I said.  “‘Suph’ actually means reeds. Moses, without question, was alluding to a future event, and what you have just witnessed is that future event.”

My wife then asked, “How could you prove this?” The anticipation of her question brought a near instantaneous response. “Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land. Jeremiah23:7-8″.

 This passage is believed by many rabbis and scholars alike to be fulfilled in modern times with the return of the Jewish people to Israel; the promised land. But why did God separate the North Country from the rest of the world? Feeling euphoric, I continued, “Belorussia is the North Country. This is a repeat of history and God has Jeremiah note the event. But in this exodus (the exodus of the Bielski Otriad) the children of Israel here fulfilled that which Moses was referring to, the crossing of the Sea of Reeds.”

The story doesn’t end here either for Moses please us another clue in exodus chapter 15 verse 1: Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spoke, saying: I will sing unto the LORD, for He is highly exalted; the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.

The famed Torah commentator Rashi noted that when Moses begins to sing that he says in the song: “I will sing” Rashi as well does the Midrash sees the prophetic implications and the film and thereof at the resurrection of the dead, the messianic age.

I couldn’t agree more but I will take it a step further. Moses begins to sing with the children of Israel saying I will singbut notice the prophetic song will be sung by Moses not the children of Israel with him then – Why?  G-d knew that the children of Israel at that time would die but Moses would be reserved for future work.  1500 years later on mount transfiguration we see Moses alive and well with Elijah.  So could it be that Moses actually returns with Elijah as one of the two witnesses of Revelation 11?  God himself seems to speak of this in exodus chapter four; if they will not believe thee, nor hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. [Exodus 4:8] the voice of the sign had nothing to do with the physical miracles that G-d had just demonstrated to his prophet, no doubt G-d is alluding to his second coming.  If this wasn’t enough consider the writings by John the Jewish scribe of the Christian bible. And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.[Revelation 15:2-3] These Jewish over-comers had learn the song of redemption and so true to the prophetic words of John they sing the song alone because John records that the two witnesses are killed at the end of the first 3 ½ years.  As well we see they are lead to the true sacrifice, the Lamb of G-d Jesus Christ.

 The Story doesn’t end there; this song of Moses in Exodus 15 also prophesies of the Antichrist spirit in the book of Revelations – how you may wonder? Well it’s obvious in this song; there is only one horse and one rider in the first verse, this could not have been speaking of Pharaoh and his army with its 600 riders and horses mentioned later in the song. 

Something I highly doubt any scholar has ever noted before is that G-d alludes to three exoduses, and so the third and final is when G-d takes the remnant of Israel that have come to the knowledge that Jesus of Nazareth was the one whom they pierced and they accept Him as the lamb of G-d, then the blood, that was upon their children, will be applied.

2 And I saw what appeared to be a sea of glass mingled with fire, and those who had conquered the beast and its image and the number of its name, standing beside the sea of glass with harps of God in their hands. 3 And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, “Great and wonderful are thy deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are thy ways, O King of the ages!

Hmmm perhaps this is why G-d allowed the translators to call it the Red Sea;for glass mingled with fire would certainly have the appearance of a “red sea!”
