If Ahed (Tammy) and her family were victims of German troops one can be certain that her story would be endlessly recycled by mainstream media. Her image would appear in school textbooks, her home a symbolic museum, her diary published, and movies made of her short life. It isn’t that way because “ownership of the media is in the hands of the perpetrators.” - Alexander Solzhenitsyn.

American-funded Israeli troops December 12 arrested the 16-year old who in 2012, as a 12-year old child, received an award for her bravery presented by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan.

An Israeli government minister is demanding that a life sentence, without hope of parole, should be inflicted on the girl-child. Her offence, in a fit of frustration, after seeing family member badly injured by an Israeli soldier, she slapped one of a sneering gang of heavily armed Israeli troops.

Ahed al-Tamimi, 16, was taken into custody after Israeli forces raided her home in Nabi Saleh village. Her father, Basem, says, “A large Israeli force raided our house at dawn and arrested Ahed while she was sleeping in her bed. Israeli forces have beaten everyone at the house before searching it and confiscating all computers and cameras. My daughter was handcuffed and taken into an unknown destination.”

The child’s mother was arrested by Israeli troops when she arrived at the detention centre to see her daughter. Inside are wall to wall animal cages in which Palestinian children are stuffed with little room for movement. Many faces up to 10-years in the harshest prisons on the planet.

Their offence, throwing stones at the US- supplied tanks and armoured trucks. When the child’s father arrived to enquire as to his wife and daughter he too was arrested. Another family member is in hospital after being downed by a rubber bullet.

The banality of pure evil: The family’s ordeal and equally distressing images of Israeli Army brutality would be unseen if it were not for the alternative internet media. The year 2017 will be known as the year journalists became hacks and hackers became journalists. This child and others like her have more spine than every gutless politician in the West ~ combined.
