“Wrong Place Wrong Time,” could be a young man’s coming of age story or it could be every alcoholic’s nightmare shared at an AA speaker’smeeting. The book is David P Perlmutter’s story of what happened to him over 20 years ago, all because of one mistake, driving loaded, and some stinkin thinking.

It’s Permutter’s first book and it reads like a fast-paced crime novel or a book about creepy things. The story reminds me of novels written by Thomas Wolfe, “The Bonfire of the Vanities” or “A Man in Full” in which we learn how easy it is to fall through the thin crust of civilization.

I understand that other books are in the works. I hope that this isn’t all we read by David Perlmutter.

I sometimes mark editing errors as I read along in my Kindle. This one caught my eye:

“…my brain was a mash of thoughts. It felt like my head has been split, sliced open with a razor sharp knife, and all my thoughts careered off in different directions.”

I highlighted “careered” assuming it should have been “careened.” Just in case, I Googled careered and one definition was, “a path or progress through life or history.”I could make that work!
