Profit is a direct signal from God that we are doing the right thing. Shubh Labh.

About 18 months I wrote this blog post: Profit is SACRED. Shubh Labh. But Nehru HATED the mention of the word ‘profit’.

The desire for survival is the desire for profit. If profit is bad then survival is bad.

God expects each species to seek profit, i.e. survive. Each species is focused on “profiteering” and advancing its children. The survival of the human species depends on our creating more value than we consume. Through innovation and service to others we add this value, which translates into our ‘profit’ or share of the net wealth of society. Without earning our share of ‘profit’ we cannot survive.

When Bill Gates produced MS DOS, he revolutionised how we looked at the world. But the only signal he got from us was PROFIT. That signal from mankind kept Bill Gates going, and he kept working hard to improve mankind’s productivity.

If a business has to survive it must be profitable. We can generalise: Any activity that is not profitable in some way must stop, for it will take the world backwards.

We all have limited time and resources. The best signal that we are using our time and resources productively is profit. It is the way you can PHYSICALLY see the invisible hand, and indeed the Hand of God – through profit on your balance sheet.

So there are good reasons why Hindus worship PROFIT.

I encourage you to do so, as well.

Stop any activity that is unprofitable and focus on that which yields profit.
