Three cheers to Obama! For showing cowardly governments across the world the meaning of free speech.

I was not expecting to say much positive about Obama, but this bit is worth praising. It is stupendous that the American President has – in this day and age where all governments, including Western – are rapidly crushing free speech, made a simple statement that will stand the test of time as defence against ALL STUPID ANTI-FREE SPEECH LAWS.

“When ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance you don’t really have to do anything, you just let them talk.”

Obama did not call for the arrest of Donald Sterling, or a judge to sit in judgement over his racism and fine him. He let the SOCIETY fix the problem. Donald has been fined millions of dollar by the PRIVATE sector basketball system. He has lost support across USA. What greater punishment can a mere judge give? 

LET THE RIGHT TO SPEECH BE ABSOLUTE AND LET NO GOVERNMENT STOP FOOLS FROM SPEAKING WHATEVER THEY WANT.

With respect to the statements by the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers — for our Malaysian audience, this is a sports team, basketball team in the United States. The owner is reported to have said some incredibly offensive racist statements that were published. I don’t think I have to interpret those statements for you; they kind of speak for themselves.

When people — when ignorant folks want to advertise their ignorance you don’t really have to do anything, you just let them talk. And that’s what happened here. I am confident that the NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, a good man, will address this.

And I suspect that the NBA is going to be deeply concerned in resolving this.
