Repetition is crucial to retention. It’s how we learn our multiplication tables. It’s why companies like Geico and Progressive run the same ads over and over. The same thing is necessary when promoting social change.

We’re trying to persuade libertarians to adapt how they think about strategy. So we keep finding new ways to stress the same points. Future success is possible if we will devote ourselves to…

• Locating the people who already agree with us
• Activating those people to do simple but powerful tasks

Using repetition on Congress is one of those simple yet powerful tasks. The anti-immigration movement is our favorite example. Few cared about this issue until a persistent minority pushed on it long enough. We must do the same thing. You should push Congress daily to adopt some libertarian policy. You should keep coming back to issues again and again, like this one.

P.S. Downsize DC seeks a System Administrator. The position is very much part-time (evenings/weekends/emergencies), though there’s a server move (already underway), at the start. The responsibilities are…

• Managing and updating the Linux (Ubuntu) OS
• Installing and maintaining Linux packages
• Adding and maintaining Linux users
• Maintaining the Apache web server configuration
• Maintaining the MySQL database configuration
• Manage the DNS configuration for hosted domains
• Managing backups of websites and databases
• Updating the core software and plugins for the WordPress websites

This is definitely a paid position, but we’re in a budgetary place where we need someone who is cause-oriented. The last two people to do this were dedicated, libertarian volunteers.
