Eugene Scalia serves as the 28th Secretary of Labor, where he oversees the enforcement and administration of more than 180 federal employment laws covering more than 150 million workers and 10 million workplaces.

As Solicitor of Labor, the Department’s principal legal officer, he pursued initiatives to protect low-wage workers, reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, and enhance enforcement of workplace safety laws. 

Prior to his confirmation, Secretary Scalia was a lawyer with a national reputation for his expertise in labor, employment, administrative, and regulatory law.
