Ajit Pai is the Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. He was designated Chairman by President Donald Trump in January 2017. He had previously served as Commissioner at the FCC, appointed by President Barack Obama and confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate in May 2012. At the FCC, Chairman Pai has championed deregulatory policies that promote innovation, investment, competition, and economic growth.

Chairman Pai has spent more than two decades in public service, spanning all branches of federal government. Prior to the FCC, he worked at the Department of Justice, the U.S. Senate, and clerked at the U.S. District Court. Chairman Pai graduated with honors from Harvard University and the University of Chicago Law School, where he was an editor of the University of Chicago Law Review and won the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize. In 2010, Pai was one of 55 individuals nationwide chosen for the 2011 Marshall Memorial Fellowship, a leadership development initiative of the German Marshall Fund of the United States.

Kent Lassman is President and CEO of the Competitive Enterprise Institute. He oversees strategy for the organization, including management of a team of policy, communications, and fundraising staff. Prior to joining CEI, Lassman spent eight years as vice president at a public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., counseling clients on campaign approaches to issues ranging from telecommunications to privacy to biotechnology and state licensing.
