$50 Million Payback To Colorado Residents Due To High Profits Of Legalized Pot (Video)
(N.Morgan) When Colorado decided to become the pioneer state in the legalization of recreational marijuana, mnay poeple had calculated the tax revenue would increase. The one thing no one knew would happen was that the state government would exceed expectations and actually make too much money.
The state is now in the position of having to pay some of the money back to the tax payers.
According to a 1992 amendment to Colorado’s constitution called the ‘Taxpayer Bill of Rights’ when the state earns more than they anticipated from a given industry, they have to return the difference to the people. When pot was first legalized the state didn’t expect a whole lot of money, so they underestimated future profits.

Hooray for pot!
Now that you’ve grassed the politicians, somebody needs to prevent a stoned theft of this money. Colorado residents better get off the pot, unite, even those not out of joint, or they’ll take a hit, making their costs higher. Politicians are always under the influence of money, you better get that straight, and somebody needs to get them under control, or they’ll make a hash of it.
Anyway, like wow. The more I stoned, the smoker I get. Impeach Nixon! Peace man.
Or……. Cut the taxes collected in HALF maybe? I wonder if they thought about that?

Charlie here. You touched on a sensitive topic. TAXES! Most of which are illegal and is the bread & butter of government which (most of it is illegal, duhhh) and if applied Charlie’s Rule of Politics that states Government always seeks to enlarge itself.
Unless pressure is applied directly to a politician’s neck you will not see any of that money. Assuming you live in Colorado.
Another thing is that free money will come back to bite you in the form of the damages marijuana will do to an individual that later will become a State detriment.
Most marijuana smokers I know are non-productive idiots. Believe you me they are not like doughnut eaters!

Money often corrupts politicians.
Colorado has a population of 5,029,196 people according to information on the internet.
If the money is returned to the people that is less than $10 per person.
That money in the hands of the people would most likely be spent on items to boost the economy of Colorado.
Not everyone wants their money spent on public education or any other government institutions or government programs because much of state and federal government have become so corrupt.
As you can see the government is moving right in trying to keep the people from getting the money that is rightfully theirs.
If everyone is given back their money they will be able to spend it the way they wish, boost the economy, and even collect more tax on the money when it is spent in the Colorado economy.
Good thing Oxycontin is a legal gateway drug to heroin, which is reeking havoc in this country. It’s especially bad amongst govt employees because it takes a special test to detect.
That 50 mil. will most likely go to the politicians bouns fund.
I live in Colorado and realistically 10 dollars to every person in Colorado isn’t really very useful. Maybe if this was used for one really good thing like…getting healthy fresh organic food in schools, I’d be down for that! That is just one idea of course.
Maybe the economy could be stimulated even further: Use the 10 dollars that everyone would normally get and send everyone 21 and over a free Marijuana seed of thier choice. Lots of growth going on, in both living green that you can eventually smoke and in exchangeable green which is Legal Tender used for buying whatever you need.
Now all we need is one of those sad commercials showing camera views of very depressed pot heads who ran out of pot. “For just 10 dollars once per year, you can help this depressed pot head stay positive and finally give him the hope of making that life saving triple stacker BLT with melted Hershey’s Kisses inside. For just 10 dollars, we can give him the seed of hope…and then finally he can rest easy with a smile and forget about all of his problems”. We can even use Sarah McLachlan’s song that was used from the animal rescue video too!
