35 ft sperm whale found on reef at Turtle Cove in Yona, Guam

GUAM – It was an unusual sight off the shores of Turtle Cove in Yona today. What appeared to be a giant rock on the reef was in fact a 35-foot dead sperm whale. NOAA fisheries was notified by the Navy’s HSC-25 that the marine mammal was beached on the reef yesterday afternoon. Department of Agriculture, NOAA, and custom officials were on site today to conduct the initial assessment.
