If Fox News Disappoints, Try One America News Network

It wasn’t long ago that friends were talking about how Fox News had drifted more to the left.  Most of us agreed it was because Rupert Murdoch’s son Lachlan Murdoch is now the executive chairman and CEO of Fox Corporation.  Guests have to be careful of what they say on Fox News…a prime example is Judicial Watch Chris Farrell who was disallowed after he said George Soros was funding the illegal alien caravans.  They accused him of being anti-Jewish, anti-Israel because Soros is Jewish!

Fox News isn’t the only duck in the conservative news pond.  We now have One American News Network (OAN).  It is carried on Direct TV, CH. 347, but unfortunately not on Dish Network.  The latter is being flooded with requests to carry OAN.  NewsWithViews’ own CEO called Dish Network and asked them when they would carry OAN.  He didn’t receive a satisfactory answer and so he switched to Dish Network.  Yes, there is another choice available.

In our house, we have Dish Network, and I too wanted OAN, so instead of going through the hassle of changing, we bought ROKU and for five extra dollars a month, we are able to tune into OAN and a number of other stations not available on Dish Network.

In a relatively short period, OAN, which launched its 24/7 cable news network on July 4, 2013, has established itself as a reliable honest source of national and international news with viewers across our nation. Herring Networks, Inc. relies on a custom ComScore measurement solution powered by TV viewing from one Multi-channel Video Programming Distributor (MVPD) partner across 70 U.S. markets. We have been working with ComScore since 2009 and believe its data is the most accurate in our industry, as it uses set-top box data, not sampling.  In March 2019, ComScore data shows that of the networks categorized exclusively as Cable, News/ Business/ Info networks, OAN ranked as the fourth-highest service in that genre, behind Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and CNN. OAN outperformed CNN Headline News, Fox Business Channel, CNBC, BBC World News, Fusion, Bloomberg and others, per the same March 2019 data. Also, for the March 2019 period, OAN outranked SyFy, Animal Planet, Nat Geo, Travel, and other well-established channels. Excluding all Broadcast channels, OAN ranked as the 40th national cable channel in March 2019 for the one MVPD included in the custom measurement. These custom rankings will vary from ComScore’s syndicated TV Essentials rankings, which cover CommScope’s full set-top box measurement in over 30MM households and 210 local markets.

Early this month, OAN also premiered a late-night comedy program called “Headlines Tonight with Drew Berquist,” which debuted on May 4^th.  The new comedy series has earned a regular Saturday night time slot at 10 pm ET with encore presentations at midnight ET.
