Forget ‘The Secret’, Here’s the Answer (Part Two)
Before starting, it’s a good idea to reread part one, which can be found here. For those happy enough to continue, let’s sum up what we already know about desires and why we want them.
An outside stimulus triggers a measurement of whether you are happy or sad. You reach your answer (this makes me happy, this makes me sad) based on expectations about life and how you should be treated – two variables governed by your inner master measurement of purpose – and outer values that match your purpose assigned to cars, houses, dream lovers, the perfect burger, or Angelina Jolie.
Now you know what’s going to make you happy, it’s time to bring that particular object of desire or favoured situation into your life.
The metaphysical approach to ‘get what you want’ out of life is to use the mind – and this is where things get a little tricky.
Some promote visualisation techniques. Others say to use affirmations and vision boards as ways to make dreams come true and bring our desires out into reality.
Ready for the big secret?
All of these – and none of them – work. It all depends upon what you’re measuring.
Let’s say that you’re using visualisation and your imagination to manifest a desire. You try it for a few days, or even a few weeks, and nothing seems to happen. What do you do? You try something else – and here’s the key, when something doesn’t appear to be working, you’re making a measurement of failure. What is the value of ‘failure’ associated to?
A lack of purpose.
If something is ‘failing’ then it has no worth, value, importance, power, or any point or use in general. It has no purpose. To continue to use a thing that has no purpose is a measurement of a lack of purpose.
So, what do you next? You try vision boards, or affirmations, or you spend money you don’t really have (again, measuring lack) on some over-priced retreat or three day seminar in the hopes that you’ll be given the missing piece to the puzzle, a different way to look at things, or be introduced to ‘The Bigger Secret!’ (c).
The three-dimensional reality governed by space and time in which you and I exist in works under the rules of certain universal laws. ‘Time’ unfolds here as it does for a reason. There is ‘space’ and ‘separateness’ here so that one thing can be measured against something else. Time and space are intrinsically linked because you can’t have one without the other.
There is a natural progression to things, a natural order by which the universe unfolds, and no matter how badly you want something to change or how much you desire to experience something, you simply can’t mess about or manipulate the laws of physics.
This is not to say that you can’t influence certain things, however. This is not to say that you can’t generate coherent fields of influence that alter the way other people think or behave – its just that you have to work within the parameters of space and time.
If a desire is taking time to manifest, everything is perfectly fine and as it should be. This is an important thing to remember. This important thing to remember comes only second to that other important thing to remember: we are all here to measure more levels of purpose, or less levels of purpose.
To alter your approach to manifest a desire – abandoning a measurement of purpose in favour of a measurement of a lack of purpose – is the equivalent of walking away from a thousand piece jigsaw because it isn’t complete after five minutes of trying to fit a handful of pieces together.
Completed jigsaws can take time to manifest. Desires can also take time to manifest. The difference between the two is that you know completed jigsaws take time when you sit down to complete a big one.
There can be a lot of moving parts involved in a desire – and pretty much any big desire you can think of requires the input or influence of another human being in order to bring it into your life experience.
We are all connected by fields of resonance and coherence. We are all influencing each other every moment we exist in order to assist each other with measurements of purpose. Sometime we are the ones being measured. Sometime we are the ones performing the measurements.
It is first and foremost, always and forever, the measurement of purpose that is the most fundamental reason for existence. The values assigned to those measurements, and how you perform those measurements, are completely up to you.
We get so caught up in trying to perfect the method of measurement. We want instant answers and gratification. We don’t want to put up with any uncomfortable circumstances for any longer than is absolutely necessary (and even that is far too long).
There will always be fear, hatred, violence, hunger, and disease because these are values assigned to measurements that contribute to the ultimate measurement of a lack of purpose. All of these things must exist because if they didn’t, we would have nothing to measure confidence, love, peace, abundance, and health against.
There is always a choice of what to measure – something either contributes to a sense of more purpose, or contributes to a sense of less purpose. You have that choice. Just because the two choices have to coexist does not mean that you have to experience both.
Our minds are free, limited only by imagination, and yet our physical bodies are locked in a physical reality constrained by time and space. Allow for this when attempting to manifest your desires or alter your experience of reality.
Stop trying so hard to find and perfect the ultimate system of measurement, and focus instead on what you are attempting to measure, in whatever way works for you. Visualise, use affirmations, make a vision board – as long as you continue to look for and measure something that contributes to your inner master measurement of a sense of purpose, you will be heading in the right direction, regardless of how long it takes to reach your ultimate destination.
Don’t give up. Don’t swap one method for another. They are all pretty interchangeable (although it’s possible that certain manifesting techniques might produce quicker results over others – more on this next). What works best for one individual might not work best for another.
Familiarise yourself with the basic rules of reality. Know how to play the game. Understand why you want what you want, and you won’t just perform miracles, you’ll be fulfilling your role as a measurer of purpose.
