Decoding the Bible: The Metaphysics of Genesis

Have you read the Bible? That’s a pretty loaded question. After all, there are many different versions of the Bible for a start.

The word ‘Bible’ can be translated and interpreted as “the books”. These books are any one of a collection of the primary religious texts of Judaism and Christianity.

There is no common version of the Bible, however the collected works are largely considered to detail the ‘rights’ and ‘wrongs’ of life and the various events that created the heavens, the Earth, and everything in-between.

Personally, I am not a religious man. I do not believe in a judgemental God who sits royally in some far-distant golden realm. Is there anything I do believe in? Well, yes; I believe that beings of conscious awareness (you and me) are individualised aspects of a nonlocal, multidimensional event that has divided itself in order to measure and explore the concept of purpose.

I also happen to believe in the Bible.

You may be questioning my sanity at this point in time, but allow me to explain.

For me, and a growing number of others, the Bible is your own personal biography, a guide book of sorts that details various states of being via parables and stories written in terms that the simple people of the day could understand. The problem is that these books have become hideously outdated. Not only that, but the various parables depicted have been mistaken for actual events involving actual people existing in actual places in a specific time period on Earth.

The Bible is a metaphysical handbook, telling us who we are and where we come from. The Bible is not an actual account of historical fact.

Don’t believe me? Let’s turn our attention to the King James Version, Old Testament – specifically, let’s see what the Bible has to say about creation, or ‘Genesis’ as it’s called.

First you will see the actual chapter entry. Underneath each chapter entry you will find a metaphysical interpretation.

****************

Chapter 1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Heaven is mind, earth is physical form (man). The definition of God we are using is that of a nonlocal, multidimensional ‘event’, a consciousness that exists outside of our reality, free of the restrictions of time and space

And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The physical (the human body) was without form, and void. The waters are ‘spiritual’ reality. I’m a little hesitant to use the term ‘spiritual’ as it’s not exactly scientific. By spiritual I mean invisible, the mental aspect of reality, the hidden quantum force that directs, shapes, and influences everything around us. ‘Quantum’ reality might be a better term to use

And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

The light that is referred to is the ‘light’ of consciousness

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.

The separation of conscious from non-conscious

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

Day is conscious awareness, night is non-consciousness – the first day is the moment when we first became conscious of ourselves

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

A firmament is a “firm unwavering place” of focus – the mind. The mind is the separating firmament between outer ‘spiritual/quantum’ reality and inner ‘spiritual/quantum’ reality

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.

The actual act of separating inner ‘spiritual/quantum’ reality from the general outer ‘spiritual/quantum’ reality, the act of individualising the ‘self’

And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.

Heaven’ is the mind, the nexus point between inner spiritual/quantum reality and outer spiritual/quantum reality

And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

The act of joining the mind with the physical body – the body is under the mind

And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called the Seas: and God saw that it was good.

The ‘Earth’ is the ‘physical’ body

The seas are the collective term for all unexpressed and unformed thoughts and ideas that contain all potentialities – the seas of thought

****************

So, here we have the creation of conscious awareness and the separation of outer quantum reality and inner quantum reality, a process that is only possible via the generation of the individualised mind. Sound crazy? Is this interpretation as crazy as the depiction of a gigantic man in a white beard passing judgement on everyone from a cloud above our heads?

Incidentally, why would a ‘God’ create everything and everyone only to say that some things he created were ‘wrong’ and other things he created were ‘right’? On top of that, why give his creation (mankind) free will only to spank us when we exercise it and send is to ‘Hell’ if we’ve been naughty boys and girls?

But I digress. My plan is that over the coming months I will delve further into the Bible, the metaphysical teachings behind the Bible, and what it is actually teaching us about ourselves, and the quantum reality within which we all exist.

The Bible has been considered ‘the word that comes forth from the mouth of God’ for thousands of years (the various teachings were verbally delivered long before anyone actually got around to writing the books).

Perhaps those old interpretations were somehow lost in translation. Perhaps it’s time that ‘God’ had a new interpreter who can put his ‘words’ into modern day vernacular.

Science, technology, medicine, and the general population of Earth have all moved with the times; evolving and expanding as each new generation replaces the old.

Isn’t it about time that the Bible was revised and updated to match the current level of understanding and sophistication of present-day mankind as well?

Let’s see if we can play a role in that, shall we?

“You happen to believe in the Bible”

So you blieve that women should have no rights, be subject to abortions carried out by priests when a husband becomes jealouse? You believe in sexism, racism, slavery, rape, torture, genocides????

Go check yourself into a facility for the insane.

Numbers 5:11-31 New International Version (NIV)

The Test for an Unfaithful Wife

11 Then the LORD said to Moses, 12 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘If a man’s wife goes astray and is unfaithful to him 13 so that another man has sexual relations with her, and this is hidden from her husband and her impurity is undetected (since there is no witness against her and she has not been caught in the act), 14 and if feelings of jealousy come over her husband and he suspects his wife and she is impure—or if he is jealous and suspects her even though she is not impure— 15 then he is to take his wife to the priest. He must also take an offering of a tenth of an ephah[a] of barley flour on her behalf. He must not pour olive oil on it or put incense on it, because it is a grain offering for jealousy, a reminder-offering to draw attention to wrongdoing.

16 “‘The priest shall bring her and have her stand before the LORD. 17 Then he shall take some holy water in a clay jar and put some dust from the tabernacle floor into the water. 18 After the priest has had the woman stand before the LORD, he shall loosen her hair and place in her hands the reminder-offering, the grain offering for jealousy, while he himself holds the bitter water that brings a curse. 19 Then the priest shall put the woman under oath and say to her, “If no other man has had sexual relations with you and you have not gone astray and become impure while married to your husband, may this bitter water that brings a curse not harm you. 20 But if you have gone astray while married to your husband and you have made yourself impure by having sexual relations with a man other than your husband”— 21 here the priest is to put the woman under this curse—“may the LORD cause you to become a curse[b] among your people when he makes your womb miscarry and your abdomen swell. 22 May this water that brings a curse enter your body so that your abdomen swells or your womb miscarries.”

“‘Then the woman is to say, “Amen. So be it.”

23 “‘The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water. 24 He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that brings a curse, and this water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering will enter her. 25 The priest is to take from her hands the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the LORD and bring it to the altar. 26 The priest is then to take a handful of the grain offering as a memorial[c] offering and burn it on the altar; after that, he is to have the woman drink the water. 27 If she has made herself impure and been unfaithful to her husband, this will be the result: When she is made to drink the water that brings a curse and causes bitter suffering, it will enter her, her abdomen will swell and her womb will miscarry, and she will become a curse. 28 If, however, the woman has not made herself impure, but is clean, she will be cleared of guilt and will be able to have children.

29 “‘This, then, is the law of jealousy when a woman goes astray and makes herself impure while married to her husband, 30 or when feelings of jealousy come over a man because he suspects his wife. The priest is to have her stand before the LORD and is to apply this entire law to her. 31 The husband will be innocent of any wrongdoing, but the woman will bear the consequences of her sin.’”

      Footnotes:
Numbers 5:15 That is, probably about 3 1/2 pounds or about 1.6 kilograms
Numbers 5:21 That is, may he cause your name to be used in cursing (see Jer. 29:22); or, may others see that you are cursed; similarly in verse 27.
      Numbers 5:26 Or representative
