The Indigo Ray

Indigo is the fourth ray of the seven rays of the soul. Under this light, highly perceptive and quick minded sojourners are very affectionate, generous people by nature. These wonderful souls can also exasperate you with what seems like a short attention span that creates unfinished projects, sentences and relationships. Keeping focus on the task at hand can be a real challenge to a mind that wants to absorb and expand in every way possible while here.

As creative, complicated beings, Indigos add color and individuality to our world so intensely we readily accept their curious and sometimes noncommittal nature as a beautiful force of creativity. This beautiful force is intuitive enough to understand that all the pieces and scraps of events, places, people and things mean something. However, they are intelligent enough to understand that it is important to not stay in one place too long as to grow stale and bitter. When the lesson and the learning are finished, they move on. Knowing somehow their very survival can depend on it, they learn early on how to protect this creative energy with an ability to let go and evolve.

The ability to discover and translate beauty takes an incredibly strong psychic bond with the spiritual realms of creative expression. The artists, musicians, poets, photographers, painters, writers and entertainers of modern times thrive on the incoming new energies of the Indigo Ray. According to information derived from Alice Bailey’s book Esoteric Psychology, this ray is coming into manifestation on our planet in the year 2025. The thought is incredible to ponder along with the shining force of positive change coming in with it!

The Indigo Ray can be challenged to learn discipline in spirituality because of its inconsistent nature. Finding practices that keep a high and steadily evolving energy with a curious nature around them helps immensely. Surroundings and environments, which enrich the mind to expand and heal the heart, help to express the words, music and beautiful images they are known to create.
