Joke: Building permits for Palestinians in Area C are only for Palestinians
who lived in the area before 1994.

There is no way to implement the restriction, it is complete nonsense. And
even if it were doable, a Palestinian can transfer ownership of the property
to any other Palestinian so the restriction is meaningless.

Whoever sold this BS to Minister Smutrich is probably rolling with laughter
every time someone in the national camp writes about it as if it were an
achievement.

And it was so simple: if the cabinet had voted to restrict the Palestinian
building permits to the existing built-up area of ??Palestinian communities
in Area C – similar to the restriction on Jewish communities in Judea and
Samaria in the
14 April 2004 exchange of letters between the Bush Administration and the
Sharon Administration – then we would be talking about a move that really
reflects some kind of policy.

Unfortunately, it does not appear that the decision makers appreciate that
Area C is the most important land reserve we have for housing construction
for the Jewish State.

That’s the ENTIRE Area C – not just the tiny area in which Israeli
settlements exist today.

I’m afraid we’re moving toward disaster.

I see a scenario in which the apparently useful idiots of the national camp
praise the government for annexing the small territory covered today by
Jewish communities in Area C while the status of the overwhelming majority
of Area C is transferred to Area B.

After all, Area B is under Israeli SECURITY control so election promises are
honored.
