It is going to be truly an “edge case” when Israel provides evacuation
instructions to the well over a million Gazans reportedly now in Rafah so
that they can be safe while Israel destroys Hamas inside Rafah.

It is an “edge case” because the overwhelming majority of the Gazans inside
Rafah today are not even residents of Rafah.

The most immoral stance will be to discourage Gazans from evacuating to
safety while launching a campaign to stop Israel from destroying Hamas in
Rafah.

Those who will discourage Gazans from evacuating to safety will literally
have blood on their hands for conspiring to turn these civilians into human
shields.

By the same token, those who will respond to the announcements by engaging a
campaign to stop Israel from destroying Hamas in Rafah will only serve to
discourage Gazans from evacuating to safety by giving them the false
impression that it is not necessary to heed Israel’s warnings and
instructions.

The most moral action will be to openly encourage Gazans to follow Israeli
instructions to evacuate to safety and offer whatever assistance to expedite
the evacuation and improve that efficacy of the provision of support to the
Gazans in whatever safety locations Israel designates for the evacuees.
