According to a new U.S. Army report, Americans could face a horrifically grim future from climate change involving blackouts, disease, thirst, starvation and war. The study found that the US military itself might also collapse. This could all happen over the next two decades, the report notes. The senior US government officials who wrote the report are from several key agencies including the Army, Defense Intelligence Agency, and NASA. The study called on the Pentagon to urgently prepare for the possibility that domestic power, water, and food systems might collapse due to the impacts of climate change as we near mid-century. The report was commissioned by General Mark Milley, Trump’s new chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, making him the highest-ranking military officer in the country (the report also puts him at odds with Trump, who does not take climate change seriously.)”

Sounds like it’s time for individuals to prepare for contingencies.Not give up individual rights,responsibilities, sovereignty and freedoms to a power hungry beaurocracy.The green new deal is not about the environment,it’s about ceding personal authority to an eventual communist government superstate.

I am a Republican and I do understand that climate change is real, but the task at hand must be took up by the people and not the goverment. I myself have solar for about half of my home energy use with plans to expand. Not only because of the benefits for the environment but for the financial gains of not paying high energy cost. This is what environmentalist need to help people understand.I hate to go political but, all I see is how democrats cry and wine about an issue and set back and wait for someone else to fix the problem. When it’s not just one side of the aisle who’s to blame, it’s not one countries fault, it is a mankind issue. Saying all this though look at largely blue states and the amount of pollution and tell me that these people are trying to set an example. To expand on a very liberal presidents famous quote “Ask not whAt you county can do for you, but what you can do for your country” we should build upon this and ask what we can do for our environment every little bit adds up. It may not seem like much at the time but it will accomplish more than you think. We are the people we are the goverment.

A lot of people dont think about how quickly everything can fall apart in the matter of a few days. Think Hurricane Katrina damage EVERYWHERE… I firmly believe that it would take a miracle to save America from some catastrophic blow. We can recover from a few downed powerplants, a few dams, a few turnpikes, destroyed farmland… but something that can hit everything simultaneously like an EMP? No, America’s military will be ran ragged to save our country from the brink.

The power grid is mainly fragile in areas like California, The midwest has a very stable one. We even have wind turbine farms, With alternate ways of distributing power from them. The Pentagon is a disgusting disgrace. A treasonous institution. And it’s a bigger polluter than most COUNTRIES on its own. The missing trillions of dollars besides the pay for play cronyism corporate no bid contracts are due to a SECRET infrastructure in place for the ONE PERCENT OF ONE PERCENT.
