First public demonstration of Spark-Renault SRT Formula E car in Las Vegas

The all new exciting and electric Spark-Renault SRT-01E Formula E race car will make it’s first public demonstration in January 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas at an event open to selected guests, media, and public.

The new Spark-Renault SRT Formula E will be driven by former F1 driver Lucas di Grassi. The new FIA Formula E car is capable of speeds over 150 mph and it will be quite interesting to hear what this car sounds like in person. 

Spark Racing Technology is behind the building of this car which is led by Frédéric Vasseur.

This Fomula E car is quite the technological advancement with zero emissions and a monocoqure chassis by Italian racing firm Dallara. The chassis is made from carbon fiber and aluminium so it is very light and strong:perfect for racing. The electric powertrain is provided by McLaren Electronics Systems which mean this car will be very fast and reliable for the kind of racing it will be required to do.

In regards to the public debut of the car Alejandro Agag, CEO of series promoters Formula E Holdings said:

“It’s going to be a fantastic spectacle and a great way for us to start the New Year in a very positive way. 2014 is, of course, a very big year for Formula E with the championship starting in Beijing in September. Before then we want to showcase this amazing fully-electric car to as many people as possible so they can see, and hear, what to look forward to.”
