What does E85 do for BRZ? [video]

The Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S is one of TST’s favorite cars to play with. From the store it has excellent chassis balance, driving position, and tactile feedback. Power….is technically there. Their speed comes from their ability to maintain momentum, not add it with pedal.

The obvious thing to do is add power, and this is a car that deserves it more than most. Your CTS-V doesn’t need more power, you just want it. This car needs it. It’s like being born 6’6″ and a  lean 235lbs, yet its parents told it to master crochet. It could be so good.

The mod market obviously responded. One answer was the turbo-charged one we drove, built by Crawford, which made 450HP sometimes. But there’s also cheaper, simpler options out there, like E85. One man chose that option (along with some basic mods and tires), TJ Hunt, and was kind enough to meet Matt and let him go for a drive, complete with launch control.
