The all-electric Kia EV9 racked up another award from Red Dot.
The Kia EV9 won the coveted “Best of the Best” award in the Cars and Motorcycle category at the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2024. The Red Dot competition judges were specifically impressed by the Kia EV9’s “Opposites United“ design philosophy. They highlighted the EV9’s successful exterior design, contemporary character, and strong classic lines.
The Red Dot Design Award is allegedly one of the most sought-after seals of design quality. This year’s ceremony will take place on June 24, 2024, at the Aalto Theatre in Essen, Germany.
The EV9 has been a stealth winner in the global electric vehicle market. Since its launch in 2023, it has received critical acclaim and numerous awards. Earlier this year, the 2024 Kia EV9 received two awards at the 2024 World Car Awards. The all-electric vehicle won the titles of “World Car of the Year“ and “World Electric Vehicle.“
The EV9 won two titles in the 2024 World Car Awards, beating cars from 29 other countries. It was also recognized by a jury of 100 automotive journalists during the World Car Awards. Like the Red Dot judges, the World Car Awards judges were impressed by the Kia EV9’s innovative design, spacious interior, and competitive price point.
Kia’s electric vehicle sales in the United States increased by 151% in the first quarter compared to the previous year. The South Korean brand announced its second-best first quarter in Q1 2024 and shared that EV9 sales helped with the achievement.
“Our growth in SUVs and early impact of the all-new, all-electric three-row EV9 helped deliver Kia’s second-best first quarter sales result,” said Eric Watson, vice president, sales operations, Kia America.
