Pocahontas Descendant Calls For Apology From Warren

(LMAO, METHINKS MANY $5 INDIANS DOTH PROTEST TOO MUCH)

‘She’s guilty of claiming she’s an American Indian but has no proof’

Claims by U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., to have a heritage including Native American ancestry, which prompted President Trump to deride her as “Pocahontas” and commentators to reach further for a “Fauxahontas” label, continue to backfire.

She, with much fanfare, announced on Monday that DNA tests reveal she could have between 1/64th and 1/1024th Native American blood.

But the tests showed that would include ancestors from Mexico, Colombia and Peru, which are not typically included in America’s definition of Native American.

She demanded the $1 million donation she said President Trump promised a charity if she took a test and found Native American blood and commentators immediately suggested he pay 1/1024th of the amount.

Now the latest reaction comes from Debbie White Dove Porreco, who is a descendant of the actual Pocahontas, the famed 17th century Powhatan princess.

She appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” and said bluntly, “It did prove that she wasn’t the Cherokee Indian that she was claiming to be for so long. I think she’s guilty of claiming she’s an American Indian but has no proof – and then [is] using it for applications for college and political reasons.”

She continued that Warren “needs to … apologize to everybody for what she has done.”

The Boston Globe initially carried Warren’s test results and her claims to be Native American.

“To make up for the dearth of Native American DNA, Bustamante used samples from Mexico, Peru, and Colombia to stand in for Native American. That’s because scientists believe that the groups Americans refer to as Native American came to this land via the Bering Strait about 12,000 years ago and settled in what’s now America but also migrated further south,” the newspaper said in explaining how Carlos Bustamante, a Stanford University professor, tried to verify Warren’s Native American heritage claims.

Carlson asked her how she felt about Warren’s claims.

“I feel betrayed because she wasn’t. She was using the name, trying to be American Indian just to rise above [others],” she replied.

It is true that during her career, Warren listed herself as a minority member, and Harvard Law then listed her as its first female faculty member of color.

WND reported this week on concerns over affirmative action because of Warren’s claim.

Powerline blogger John Hinderaker said, “If Warren is an Indian, then so are most of the rest of us. And most of us are also African-American or Hispanic. If everyone is an Indian, then no one is an Indian.”

Ultimately, Warren’s tests showed she likely has less Native American blood than the average white American.

Nevertheless, Hinderaker noted Harvard Law School back in the 1990s billed Warren as the first “woman of color” on its faculty, according to a 1995 Fordham Law Review article. While at the University of Pennsylvania Law School, she put herself on the “Minority Law Teacher” list as a Native American in the directory of the Association of American Law Schools.

“On the contrary, if Warren’s 1/1,000 Native American ancestry counts, the law school has probably had any number of ‘women of color,’ both before and after her,” he wrote. “Most of us qualify.”

Hinderaker now sees affirmative action “teetering on the brink,” with the trial of an Asian racial discrimination lawsuit commencing this week along with the Warren fiasco.

“Harvard’s denial that it discriminates against Asian applicants is transparently false, yet the academic world has rallied around the university in what likely will prove to be a vain effort to uphold the discriminatory regime in which nearly all are complicit,” he writes.

Hinderaker says “the edifice of racial categorization and discrimination persist in spite of its obvious irrationality and unfairness,” because “many billions of dollars turn on it.”

“And, perhaps equally important, it provides endless opportunities for virtue signaling,” he said, referring to the act of trying to enhance one’s standing as a person of moral character by declaring support for particular causes or policies.

Another group objecting to Warren’s claims was the Cherokee Nation.

In a statement after Warren’s test results were promoted, the tribe said, “A DNA test is useless to determine tribal citizenship. Current DNA tests do not even distinguish whether a person’s ancestors were indigenous to North or South America.

“Sovereign tribal nations set their own legal requirements for citizenship, and while DNA tests can be used to determine lineage, such as paternity to an individual, it is not evidence for tribal affiliation. Using a DNA test to lay claim to any connection to the Cherokee Nation or any tribal nation, even vaguely, is inappropriate and wrong.

“It makes a mockery out of DNA tests and its legitimate uses while also dishonoring legitimate tribal governments and their citizens, whose ancestors are well documented and whose heritage is proven. Senator Warren is undermining tribal interests with her continued claims of tribal heritage.”

The statement was signed by Cherokee Nation Secretary of State Chuck Hoskin Jr.

To start, it was the idiot lying bragger-in-chief Trump that used the name Pocohontas….not Warren. And, if I were some poor Oklahoma redneck that could get into Harvard by claiming what grandma used to gab on and on about, I’d do it too. If you are from the southern United States, EVERYONE has a relative that claims indian relations somewhere back in their closets……reading these snarky, sophomoric rants from idiot Trump supports is taxing to the soul.

I worked for 5 years next to Jim Buso a half blood Navajo who’s mother came back to live in England with him after her divorce. I have more claim to tribal membership as a coworker as I certainly have met a Native American and the tribes themselves never cared about the existence of ‘race’.
