Confirmed: Obama Spent Thousands (at the Very Least) Defending Against Eligibility
Back in April and August of 2009, I reported on strong anecdotal evidence that suggested that Mr. Obama and his campaign had spent in excess of $1 million to defend against eligibility lawsuits.
This has now been specifically confirmed by the Obama Administration.
Per FoxNews:
Obama supporters note that the expenses for John McCain were also higher after his campaign than before. And the reason for the inflated costs had as much to do with Obama’s running the most expensive campaign in history as with the many, many legal challenges from Republican groups – including a defense against charges the president wasn’t U.S.-born. [emphasis mine]
Also, per RollCall:
[DNC National Press Secretary Hari] Sevugan said some legal fees were needed to defend the campaign against “unmeritorious” suits, including one challenging Obama’s citizenship.
Why is this important? Because it shows that Mr. Obama and/or his administration is specifically fighting anyone who wishes to challenge his legitimacy as President, to the point of being unwilling to show any sort of documentation that would help to substantiate his background and is willing to fight to keep things hidden.
By deduction, there must be something in his background documentation that he doesn’t want people to know about that does not show up on his alleged certification of live birth. Even worse, if you ask him for evidence, he’ll fight you over it.
Name another candidate for the presidency who, if asked, would fight the requester over a request for a birth certificate or other background documentation.
This is therefore all a tacit admission that we, the People of the United States, should not be able to review this President’s credentials, especially since the only credential we have that is used by detractors as the titular piece of evidence substantiating his eligibility is an image of an alleged document said to represent him.
